  • 2 Copies of visa application form to be filled completely and signed.

  • Covering letter on Company’s letterhead with Company’s seal and address and contact number (letter should have details like travel dates, passport number, designation, a brief company profile and other details about trip and expenses).
  • Invite letter on Company’s letterhead with seal and address and contact number (letter should have details like travel dates in and out, passport number, designation, a brief company profile and other details about trip and expenses)
  • Updated bank statement for 6 months in original from the bank with stamp and seal
  • Xerox copies of Income Tax Papers
  • Overseas medical policy
  • Compulsory return ticket
  • Salary Slip for the last 3 months
  • Chamber of Commerce letter
  • Police clearance from the local Police Station (Duly apostilled)

Tourist Visa

  • 2 Copies of visa application form to be filled completely and signed.
  • Current passport valid for more than 6 months and previous passport
  • Two Recent Photographs 35 x 45 Background should be white with 80 % face no spectacles or cap, both ears should be visible and teeth should not be visible
  • Personal letter having Name, Nationality, Age, Passport No, and Date & Place of issue and reason for visit.
  • Xerox copies of Income Tax Papers
  • Updated bank statement for 6 months in original from the bank with stamp and seal
  • Overseas medical policy
  • Compulsory return ticket
  • Hotel Confirmation with guest name, check-in, check-out details, payment confirmation details and hotel name and address.
  • Salary Slip for the last 3 months
  • Chamber of Commerce letter
  • Police clearance from the local Police Station (Duly apostilled)

Work Permit Visa 

  • Application form to be filled completely and signed
  • Current passport valid for more than 6 months and previous passport.  Copies of all the pages of your passport, even the blank ones. They must each be notarized.
  • Two Recent Photographs 35 x 45 Background should be white with 80 % face no spectacles or cap, both ears should be visible and teeth should not be visible
  • Letter with your application stating that you are applying for the work permit and the reason why include your contact information, passport number and issue and expiration date, your nationality and date of birth, your occupation, and date in which you arrived in Costa Rica.
  • Birth certificate
  • Covering letter on Company’s letterhead with Company’s seal and address and contact number (letter should have details like travel dates, passport number, designation, a brief company profile and other details about trip and expenses).
  • Registration Documents and the Legal Constitution of the hiring company
  • Proof the company hiring you is registered.
  • Proof that workers insurance has been paid
  • Updated bank statement for 6 months in original from the bank with stamp and seal
  • Police clearance from the local Police Station (Duly apostilled)
  • Proof of registration with a Costa Rican consulate (your provisional visa).
  • Marriage Certificate

Student Visa

  • 2 Copies of visa application form to be filled completely and signed.
  • Current passport valid for more than 6 months and previous passport
  • Two Recent Photographs 35 x 45 Background should be white with 80 % face no spectacles or cap, both ears should be visible and teeth should not be visible
  • University enrollment letter
  • A letter of application directed to the head of immigration
  • Your approved temporary student visa
  • Birth certificate
  •  Police Clearance Certificate
  • Proof of fingerprint registration at the Ministry of Public Security
  • Updated bank statement for 6 months in original from the bank with stamp and seal
  • Means to pay the application fee

Special guidelines for COVID-19

  • A “Pase de Salud” form must be completed before departure. This will generate a QR code which must be presented upon arrival. The form can be obtain at https://salud.go.cr/
  • Passengers must have travel insurance with coverage of COVID-19 treatment and accommodation costs
  • Passengers must arrive at San Jose (SJO) or Liberia (LIR)
