  • 2 Copies of visa application form to be filled completely and signed
  • Current passport valid for more than 6 months and previous passport
  • Two Recent Photographs 35 x 45 Background should be white with 80 % face no spectacles or cap, both ears should be visible and teeth should not be visible.
  • Covering letter on Company’s letterhead with Company’s seal and address and contact number (letter should have details like travel dates, passport number, designation, a brief company profile and other details about trip and expenses).
  • Invite letter on Company’s letterhead with seal and address and contact number (letter should have details like travel dates in and out, passport number, designation, a brief company profile and other details about trip and expenses).
  • Xerox copies of Income Tax Papers last 03 years.
  • Updated bank statement for 6 months in original from the bank with stamp and seal (Seal should be in Blue. Black seal will not be accepted)
  • Compulsory return ticket
  • Hotel Confirmation with guest name, check-in, check-out details, payment confirmation details and hotel name and address.
  • Salary Slip for the last 3 months.
  • Health Certificate confirming vaccination against Yellow Fever.
  • Polio Vaccination
  • Proof of funds and a declaration stating that the traveler holds sufficient funds to cover the period of stay @ USD 50 per day and that the traveler will stay in a foreign tourist hotel in Ethiopia.

Tourist Visa

  • 2 Copies of visa application form to be filled completely and signed.

  • Personal letter having Name, Nationality, Age, Passport No, and Date & Place of issue and reason for visit.
  • Leave letter from company in case salaried.
  • Hotel Confirmation with guest name, check-in, check-out details, payment confirmation details and hotel name and address
  • Compulsory return ticket
  • Xerox copies of Income Tax Papers last 03 years.

  • A valid Polio (OPV) Certificate is required. The dose of OPV should be taken at least four weeks prior to the departure from India.
  • Proof of funds and a declaration stating that the traveler holds sufficient funds to cover the period of stay @ USD 50 per day and that the traveler will stay in a foreign tourist hotel in Ethiopia.

Work Permit Visa

  •  4 Copies of visa application form to be filled completely and signed from employing organization.
  • Current passport valid for more than 6 months and previous passport
  • 5 Recent Photographs 35 x 45 Background should be white with 80 % face no spectacles or cap, both ears should be visible and teeth should not be visible.
  • Support letter from the Ministry of Health or Education, if the employee is going to work in Health or Education sector
  • Educational certificate and work experience;
  • Work permit service fee, Birr 600.00 (six Hundred Birr)
  • Support letter from appropriate organization for the employee of Association
  • Investment Certificate issued by the Investment Agency, or Business Licence issued by the Ministry of Trade, or Trade License of the organization if the Head Office is located outside of Ethiopia(For Private organization)

Special guidelines for COVID-19

  • Passengers are required to present a medical certificate showing a negative COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test result before boarding a flight to Ethiopia.
  • Travelers who arrive at the airport without a negative test result will not be granted permission to board the flight and will be unable to continue their journey to Ethiopia.
  • Transit passengers and children aged 12 years and under are exempt from the COVID-19 test requirement.
  • Diplomatic and service passport holders and their families are encouraged, but not required, to have a medical certificate showing a negative COVID-19 test to travel to Ethiopia.
  • Diplomatic and service passport holders without the certificate are required to self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.
  • Travelers must have the right kind of coronavirus test for Ethiopia. There are several different COVID-19 tests available, and the Ethiopian authorities accept only specific types.
  • The Ethiopian government has stipulated that a Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test is required. The RT-PCR is a molecular diagnostic test that detects whether the individual is currently infected with coronavirus disease.
  • When traveling to Ethiopia, the medical certificate showing the negative test result must have been issued within 120 hours (5 days) of arrival.
  • Test certificates issued more than 120 hours in advance will not be accepted.
